Introduction:
The quest for better cooling never ends. It's like the age old battle between good and evil. It's like nVidia vs. ATi; AMD vs. Intel; BMW vs. Mercedes - it's heat vs. performance. To throw a twist in this head-to-head, cooling performance is not enough anymore. People want excellent cooling performance but don't want the noise that was once associated with high-performance coolers. The days of the GlobalWIN WBK38 are over and the days of Zalman and other high-performance, low noise coolers are here. Join us as we take a look at the latest cooler from Zalman for both AMD and Intel processors. This cooler promises good performance, low noise and a lower profile than Zalman's popular CNPS9500 series.
Box & Bundle:
Zalman has a very nice presentation with this product. They allow you to view both the top of the cooler as well as the bottom through clear windows in the packaging.

Thankfully, Zalman has seen fit to package everything in a resealable clamshell package inside the box. Often, companies use packaging that has been melted and pressed shut so that you destroy the package and cannot reuse it. I'm glad to see Zalman is on the consumer's side.
This cooler is designed for virtually every current socket that is on the market. This cooler supports Socket 775 for Intel as well as Socket 754, 939, and 940 (AM2). They have dropped official support for Intel's Socket 478 as this hasn't been in production for quite some time. All of AMDs socket designs are fairly similar so the bundle only includes two different types of mount brackets as you can see below.

The Bundle
The bundle includes mounting hardware, a case badge, as well as a small tube of white thermal paste, the Fan Mate 2 controller and wires and finally a quick install guide. All of this should come in handy and get you running in no time.
