Introduction:
A while back we took a look at the MaxOrb from Thermaltake, and it performed very well (Read our Review over Here). Thermaltake has decided to redesign the MaxOrb and has released the MaxOrb EX, which we've got on the bench today.
The MaxOrb and the MaxOrb EX look pretty much identical to each other, however instead of the aluminum (silver) finish of the original MaxOrb (aluminum fins with a copper base), the MaxOrb EX now has a copper finish (copper/aluminum fins with a copper base). The new redesign should hopefully increase performance, even though the original MaxOrb did pretty well in our testing.
First Impressions:
Let's take a closer look at the MaxOrb EX:

As you can see from the pictures, the MaxOrb EX features a manual fan control knob that is attached to the cooler (much like the original MaxOrb). This is a handy feature if you're installing the MaxOrb EX into a HTPC case or in a room where you don't want to hear the fan spinning up and down.

The accessories included with the MaxOrb EX as pretty standard (and the same as the original MaxOrb). Everything you need for Intel and AMD installations is included.

Just for comparison sake I'll post up pictures of the MaxOrb vs. the MaxOrb EX side by side. As you can see in the pictures below the coolers are identical to each other aside from the color.
