Good day all.
Spring is just too far away to wait for a LANparty. I am going to be hosting one this October 25Th at my place. It will be a little more retro, going way back to Unreal Tournament 2004. Also a little TrackMania Nations Forever to spice it up.
If anyones interested, give me a heads up, or just come on down.
I'll be setting up on Friday so everyone is welcomed to come and make it a longer LANparty.
Bring a sleeping bag and stay till Sunday!

I have 2 parking spots in the back and a street to park down in the front.
If 20 people came that would be getting a little crowded. Looking for 8-16 people.

I'm considering coming, I would enjoy it, there's just the problem of getting down there....maybe i can convince nicao to go, then i can catch a ride with him....

I think I'm actually coming to this one if it's still going to happen.  UT2004 sounds good, but I'm afraid Trackmania is out for me as I won't let starforce copy protection anywhere near my machine.

Does it use starforce through steam?

I'm not sure about this one in particular but most games distributed on Steam have the same copy protection as the retail boxed version.  This is to prevent hackers from comparing the versions and using the differences to remove the copy protection.

I fired up my old server that I had sitting on the shelf for the last 3 years. It still had a working copy of the original Unreal Tournament... I think I better build a faster old server for UT2k4.

About the starforce... I installed the TMNations demo at another lanparty... I feel dirty now
I haven't looked yet to see if it uses starforce. And to think I still haven't installed "this game yet" because it has starforce.

I just fried my server last. It was made of old computer parts, and not enough ductape.
If you can bring down a working copy of Linux, I can still setup UT2k4 and get it ready for a transfer. Or I still have enough parts to put something together for the server.

Make sure you have TAM setup, cuz TAM rocks.

I don't need X installed.
TAM does rock! Thanks I will get that setup too for a few games.

TAM = Counterstrike one life per level with Shockrifle sock combo's. Last one standing wins.

I got a server running. Athlon 64 3800+ I think it should be able to handle everyone just fine. Now to get the redirect to work.
