A little over a month ago I had the opportunity to review my first cooler from Sunbeamtech, the Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler (Reviewed Here). Overall the Tuniq Tower 120 did very well, and thanks to some very good cooling performance I was very interested to take a look at the Sunbeamtech Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler. Sunbeamtech doesn't have very many models, but from their website they seem like all of them have been very well received, which should make this very interesting to see how the Core-Contact Freezer is able to stack up against all the other coolers we've reviewed.

First Impressions:

At first glance this cooler looks very similar to quite a few other heatpipe tower coolers, but it is what's on the bottom that makes this cooler unique. The heatpipes are exposed and actually touch the CPU, this isn't the first time we've seen this design as the OCZ Vendetta (Reviewed Here) also had the same design, which should make it very interesting to see how the two perform against each other. The OCZ Vendetta features 3 heatpipes, while the Sunbeamtech Core-Contact Freezer features 4 heatpipes, but otherwise they look somewhat similar to each other.

Other than the unique base of the heatsink, the rest of the cooler is pretty standard and there isn't really anything too out of the ordinary to note. Biggest difference is the mounting system, instead of a back bracket like most use, this cooler uses a bracket on the top of the board which the heatsink attaches too. This will make installation pretty simple, and doesn't require for you to remove your board which is a nice bonus.
