Final Thoughts and Conclusion Page 5 of 5
CoolIT Systems ECO A.L.C. CPU Cooler Final Thoughts:
If you've always wanted to watercool your computer, now is the time. The ECO is by far the easiest watercooling setup I have ever used, and with a MSRP of $74.99 it is a great value and is cheaper than some of the air-cooling setups we've tested in the past.
The performance of the ECO is very good when you compare it against the other coolers we've tested, you're not going to see record breaking performance but it was easily able to come in at almost the top of our charts.
As far as noise goes the ECO isn't the quietest cooler we've ever tested when running at full speed, but thanks to the PWM fan that is included on the radiator we were able to keep the entire pretty quiet at low to medium CPU usage. During tests when we had our 130 watt CPU running at 100% the fan did have to spin up a bit to keep up with the heat, but overall I wouldn't say the noise was excessive by any means. If you installed the ECO on a sub-100 Watt CPU chances are good that for the most part you'd never hear the ECO over top of other system noise. If you are going for max performance you'll want the fan spinning at 100% (1800 RPM), but for the average system you'll be more than happy to give up a couple degrees of performance and have the fan spinning at a much lower speed in exchange for lower sound levels.
Installation is really simple with the ECO which was a pleasant surprise. I've definitely installed air coolers that have been trickier than the ECO and from start to finish you should be able to get your system watercooled in under 30 minutes (including removing your motherboard).
Another great thing about the ECO is the price. With a MSRP of $74.99 USD the ECO is a great value. There are multiple air-coolers on the market today that have higher MSRPs than the ECO and overall if you compare the performance to price ratio of the ECO I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised.
At the end of the day it's very easy to like the ECO. Installation is a breeze, performance is great, and the MSRP is extremely competitive, what more can you ask for? Thanks to these reasons we've awarded the ECO A.L.C. CPU Cooler our "Editor's Choice - Gold" award. Jumping on the watercooling bandwagon has never been easier or more affordable, and you will most definitely want to check out the the CoolIT ECO A.L.C CPU Cooler for yourself.
